Air Skate Kits Options

For first-time users of these amazing load moving products, the air skate kit is probably going to be most suited for your initial needs. You won't have to worry about what valves you are going to need, or hoses and fittings; they are all supplied as standard with your kit. Just let us know your specifications and needs at the time of order and we will take care of all the details for you. Kits are also ideal for seasoned users, as the individual components can also be used to add more modules to (bolster) an existing system for larger moves where more lifting power is required. An excellent choice in versatile load moving tools.

The most important aspect of selecting air skate kits is to first decide the type of air bearing you are going to need. In addition to A-type and B-type bearings, a third choice is also available - VL air bearings, which are designed to move loads of under 2 tonnes.

Let's take a look at the four main kits we offer:

B-type Air Skate Kit - with high- lift capability

Remote control is standard with this kit

The B-type air skate kit comes complete with high-lift air bearings mounted to low profile aluminium modules, a remote control unit for easy air flow control, all valves, hoses and other necessary fittings.

Standard kits are fitted with 30cm (12-inch) bearings each with a lifting capacity of 1 tonne, and a combined capacity to lift loads of around 4 tonnes.. Kits are available with lifting capacities of 100 tonnes and beyond.

B-type air bearings have the added feature of being able to lift loads vertically away from the floor before floating them to their destination. These work well with loads that have to be lifted clear of their base before moving.

These aluminium models have a very low profile and can easily slide under loads with only a 32mm clearance height.

VL-type Air Skate Kit - for delicate & lightweight loads

Remote control is optional - details here

The VL-type air skate kit comes complete with a set of four VL air bearings secured into stainless steel modules. Also included are air flow control valves and 90° elbow adapters, a set of four air supply hoses, ball valve and tee-pieces as necessary.

VL air skate kits are most suited to moving loads weighing less than 2 tonnes, and are especially ideal for "clean room" applications or attaching directly to delicate machinery that is moved repetitively.

The VL bearings shown here are designed to attach permanently to machinery or loads that are frequently moved. Each move then only requires the attachment of the air supply hoses. Attachment to the load is via a central bolt, the specifications of which are determined at the time of order.

A-type Air Skate Kit - square aluminum modules

Remote control is optional - details here

Square aluminum air skate kits offer the same qualities as the round steel kits - see below, except that they are lightweight and more suitable for sliding under loads and machinery.

Square aluminum modules use exactly the same air bearings as the round steel modules, so lifting capacities are the same. However, they do have a lower profile and need less clearance height than their round steel counterparts.

Set up is a breeze with hoses that incorporate quick disconnect fittings and an optional remote control box that takes care of air flow control to each module to ensure smooth operation. Note: remote control is optional.

A-type Air Skate Kit - the machinery mover

Remote control is optional - details here

Round steel air skate kits are the ideal solution for moving heavy machinery throughout your workplace. Machines that need frequent moving can have these amazing air skates fitted directly to them and left in position. Once the move has been made, simply pull the hoses away and you're done. To move the machine again, attach the hoses, switch on the air, and off you go. It really is that simple.

The kit comes with everything you need to move most types of application. Mounting plates are available for permanent load attachment.

Mounted on round steel modules with a set of 30cm air bearings, a kit can lift and float loads of up to 2 tonnes with ease. Increase the size of your bearings and you can lift and move weights up to 100 tonnes and more.

Using these amazing air skate kits, you can now lift and move loads that forklift trucks and overhead cranes cannot manage or reach. Floating your loads on air also offers the added benefits of true omni-directional use, precise positioning, and the ability to move loads of all shapes sizes and weights safely and securely.

Whatever your load moving needs, we are sure to have a kit that is just right for you. Our knowledgeable sales team have the experience to find the right products for your application.
